COMMON AILMENTS SERVICE
This is a free NHS Wales service that adults and children living in Wales can access for advice and/or treatment on the following 26 conditions:
Acne Athlete's Foot Backache (acute) Chickenpox Cold Sores*
Colic* Conjunctivitis (bacterial) Constipation Dermatitis (acute) Diarrhoea*
Dry Eye Haemorrhoids/Piles Hayfever Head Lice Indigestion/Reflux
Ingrown Toenail* Intertrigo/Ringworm Mouth Ulcers Nappy Rash Oral Thrush
Scabies Sore Throat/Tonsillitis Teething Threadworms Vaginal Thrush
*advice only conditions - no treatment available on NHS - these are conditions when there is not sufficient evidence
to support the use of medicines to treat on the NHS
To access this service, you will need to register with the pharmacy.
The service involves a private and confidential consultation with the pharmacist and advice on managing any treatment that is recommended.
Please note that the pharmacist may have to refer you to the GP in certain circumstances.
